About Cape May

Cape May, NJ is America’s Original Seaside Summer Resort and with for many good reasons.

Jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean 40 miles and forming the mouth of the Delaware Bay, Cape May, NJ, as well as Cape May County, has a very unique climate from the rest of the state. The temps remain consistent with the surrounding water temps. This means it’s hard to get above the 80’s in summer, and rarely remains below the 40s for long in the winter. {picture of cape may inset into page}

In addition to our rare climate, the area, as you will notice, the further down the Garden State Parkway or Route 9 you get, you will notice the state changes considerably. There are fewer lanes, more trees, more water, more boats, less large trucks, and lots of people. But, who can blame them. Perhaps it’s the slower pace that things happen at the Cape. Even in August, when the heat and number of tourists are at their greatest, life in Cape May, is going at a blistering, 1/10th the speed of big cities. If the Caribbean is on Island Time, it’s fair to say we are on Cape Time.

The Charms of Cape May go beyond our own measurement of time. Let’s take a look at what the Cape really has to offer.
